Having lived with this for about a month now, I would say that I am liking the design and the execution of it. The photo in the listing does not do it justice. The tray is is made of melamine, which means it's a rigid, light, rugged, thermally insulating monolithic object (no seams) that cleans up nicely. I use it as a dishwasherable placemat daily. If I were carrying drinks on it, I might also appreciate the tiny gutter formed into its perimeter, which looks like it could collect a little spill in case of accident. A nice detail of the back/bottom of the tray is that it has a slightly raised edge around the perimeter (which is the underside of what looks like a little gutter from the top), which holds the tray off the surface it's placed on, so you won't get "suction" of this tray if placed on a wet counter, as you might with a flat-bottom tray. On the top side, the angle of the handles is fairly flat and the lip of the tray is fairly low, so that it is not awkward to place large bowls that overreach the end of the tray and ride up on the handles.
